1975 Plymouth Duster 2-door Sports Hardtop Coupe powered by a 5.6L 340cui V8 Chrysler LA-series engine and driven by a 4-spd floor-shift manual transmission.
This Duster was originally a 6-cyl car when it left the factory, but it now sports a 1968 340cui V8 engine with an Edelbrock intake manifold and a 4-bbl carburetor. The 340 was developed and first introduced in 1968 by boring out the 318cui engine which produced a lightweight and high output engine that was equally suited to either drag strip or street performance use. It was fitted with a forged shot peened steel crankshaft instead of the cast nodular iron unit used in the 318. This also included shot peened hammer-forged steel connecting rods and high compression cast aluminum pistons with full floating pins. A 4-barrel carburetor was mated to a high-rise, dual plane intake manifold feeding high-flow cylinder heads that are still considered among the best of that era.
The car is fitted with a dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers; 4-speed manual transmission with a factory Hurst shifter; front disc brakes; power steering; new Cragar SS rims w/ 8″ wide rear & 7″ wide front and new BF Goodrich tyres. The body is almost perfect like the day it came out of the factory, totally rust free and rock solid with the floors and frame rails all in mint condition. The paint is awesome and it features 340 side striping, Twister emblem, 340 snorkel bonnet finished in satin black and a rear ‘Go Wing’.
This Duster drives as awesome as it looks.
