Car Description

1967 Ford Mustang 2-dr Hardtop Coupe powered by a 4.7L 289cui V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission.

          Factory C-code 289 V8
          C4 3-spd Automatic
          Wilwood Front Disc Brakes
          Factory Black ‘Luxury Interior’ Option
          Factory Overhead Roof Console
          Power Steering

This Mustang Coupe was built in Ford’s San Jose, Northern California plant on the 10th January 1967 and was painted Wimbledon White and featured luxury Aqua bucket seat vinyl interior. It was produced as a C-code 289cui-2v V8 engined car with a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a conventional 3.10:1 differential, and was first delivered to the San Jose, California DSO for sale.

Nicely optioned, this ’67 Coupe was what you wanted for a driver back in the 60’s. Upgraded engine, air conditioning, sweet luxury/decor interior and styled steel wheels.

This car underwent a restoration several years back then was daily driven for a short while before being parked 2 years ago. The previous owner estimates that he put approx 3,500 miles on the clock before putting it into storage.

The Wimbledon White paint really works nice on this car, and is contrasted well by the Black vinyl top. This car has been restored to be a driver, not a show car. The paint shines nicely and the chrome & bright trim are in very nice condition. The body is very solid and appears to be rust free thanks in large part to being delivered new in the San Jose, California ordering district. Take a good look at the original floors as they still wear much of the original red oxide paint that Ford used during the production of the car.

Inside this Mustang has the desirable luxury / decor interior package fitted now in Black vinyl. The package included both the floor centre console and the upper overhead console, both of which were trimmed in brushed aluminum like the dash bezels and door panels. The instrument bezel, carpet, headliner and seat upholstery were all replaced during the restoration process.

Under the hood the 289 was rebuilt and runs excellent. It still wears its original engine designation tag. Upgrades include MSD billet distributor and heavy-duty ignition box. It is still equipped with a 2v carb and the factory exhaust manifolds. If fires up quite easily and runs very well.

The original factory brakes on this one were drum, however these have been upgraded with Wilwood front disc brakes. While they are a non power-assisted brake set up, they do stop easily.

This car was originally equipped with factory air conditioning. The under-dash components appear to still be in place, however the under-bonnet components have been removed, but are included with the sale of the car. Wheels and tyres consist of reproduction 15″ Styled Steel rims with 215/65/15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT tyres.

So, there you have it, a very good solid driver in restored condition, ready for your next weekend show and drive!
