Car Description

1969 Ford Falcon ‘Futura’ 2-dr Sport Coupe powered by a 4.9L 302cui V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 3-spd column-shift automatic transmission.

The Ford Falcon is a model line of cars that was produced by Ford in the US from the 1960 to 1970 model years. The Falcon was developed as a scaled-down version of the full-size Ford Galaxie sedan and during its production, the Falcon served as the basis for multiple Ford vehicle lines, including the first generations of the Ford Mustang pony car. Through the 1960s, Ford produced three generations of the Falcon, all derived on the same platform architecture.

In late 1965, Ford launched the 3rd generation Falcon, based on a shortened Fairlane platform with revised styling. At the top of the line was the highly trimmed Futura Sports Coupe, which featured chrome side window frames, giving this two-door sedan the look of a hardtop. It also featured a premium all-vinyl interior, the heater-defroster became standard, brakes were 9″ for six-cylinder Falcons, and 10″ for V8’s and the two-door hardtop and convertible models were dropped.

This Futura was purchased new in Portland, Oregon and its been in the same family since then. It has always been garaged and maintained. Some maintenance items include – rebuilt radiator in 2019, carburetor rebuild in 2020, new battery, water pump, fan belt and radiator hoses. All the electrical and mechanicals work great on this car, and it runs and drives great. There is some light rust in the trunk and below the rear window, and a minor dent in the left front quarter panel. It still bears it’s original paint except for the right rear quarter panel that has been professionally repaired after a rear end accident. The interior is in great condition for a 52 year old car.

A hard car to find, especially in this original condition.
