1967 Ford Fairlane GTA 2-dr hardtop coupe powered by a 6.4L 390cui-4v V8 Ford Fe-series big block engine and driven by a C6 3-speed console-shift automatic transmission.
This car was produced on the 12th June 1967 in Ford’s Kansas City plant as a Fairlane GT-A 2-dr hardtop coupe and was fitted with an ‘S-Code’ 390cui V8 4-bbl big block engine. The trim/body plate identifies it as painted in Candy Apple Red and fitted with Red interior trim. It was matched with a C6 automatic transmission paired to a 3.00:1 ratio conventional differential and delivered to the Los Angeles, California sales district. The car has spent all it’s fifty five (55) years of life in Southern California, where it has been caretaken from new by it’s one and only ‘lil-o-lady’ (literally) owner.
This car is an unmolested survivor, still wearing it’s original paint except for the driver’s side front mudguard which has had a minor repair and repaint. It bears stone chips, scratches, scuffs and minor dents, together with a touch up of the trunk lid from a break-in, which has never been repainted. All the panels are original and still align perfectly. As can be seen from the photo’s this is a completely ‘rust free’ car, with the underside in amazing condition.
The interior is original and still in great condition, with only the dash pad, headliner and carpet showing their age.
Under the bonnet lies the original 390-4v big block V8 engine, and this together with the entire driveline is believed to be number’s matching. Unfortunately this is hard to prove as Ford in 1967 did not have factory supporting documentation. The car drives and stops well, and does feature new Ford 15″ Styled Chrome rims fitted with new Cooper Cobra Radial G/T 215/60 tyres.
This is the cleanest GT-A Survivor that we have ever seen, and it was sold new in Southern California where it has lived all its life indoors in a rust free hot dry climate.
