1967 Ford Fairlane 500 2-dr hardtop coupe powered by a 4.7L 289cui V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 3-speed column-shift automatic transmission.
This ’67 Fairlane 500 was manufactured in Ford’s Kansas City plant in February 1967 as a Fairlane 500 2-dr hardtop coupe. The trim/body plate identifies it as painted in Springtime Yellow with Black interior trim. It was fitted with a C4 automatic transmission paired to a 3.10:1 ratio differential and delivered to the Seattle, Washington DSO, where it was sold and has spent all its life since in the dry west of Washington State.
The original owner purchased this Fairlane as their first ever new car, and years later their son purchased it from his parents and kept the car in the family for fifty years. This ’67 Fairlane 500 is a very solid and fun car to drive still today, having had the engine and transmission rebuilt approx 18 years ago, and now with only 10k miles since the rebuild, it still runs, idles and drives exceptionally well. At about the same time as the rebuild, the exterior received a repaint in the original colour of springtime yellow. There are some minor imperfections in the paint, but it shines nicely and the moldings still show well. The engine bay is dressed cleanly in stock fashion with bright Ford blue, accentuating the 289 V8 powered heart. This car is no trailer queen but the originality and natural good looks will turn heads.
The interior is neat and clean with a re-upholstered front bench seat. The original AM radio functions, windows roll up & down smoothly and the comfy bench seat welcomes you in with a feel of more simple times. The undercarriage is as you would expect from the sunny & dry side of Washington State; there is some peeling factory undercoat and a little dirt but amazingly there is very little in the way of corrosion besides a few pinholes in the drivers front floor pan.
This Fairlane is the perfect blend of classic V8 power, simplicity, style and fun.
