1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 2-door Sport Coupe powered by a 5.7L 350cui V8 GM Chev small block engine and driven by a THM400 3-spd console-shift automatic transmission.
Dubbed “Super Hugger”, the 2nd-generation Camaro was an all-new car with its basic mechanical layout familiar and engineered much like its predecessor with a unibody structure utilizing a front subframe, A-arm & coil spring front suspension, and rear leaf springs. The chassis and suspension of the 2nd-generation were refined in both performance and comfort; base models offered significant advances in sound-proofing, ride isolation and road-holding. Chevrolet engineers had gained extensive experience racing the 1st-generation Camaro which led directly to advances in the 2nd-generation Camaro’s steering, braking and balance. High-performance configurations were initially available, but the marketplace changed as the 1970’s progressed with fuel crisis, higher insurance rates, and tightening emissions regulations.
This is a real Z28, built in Norwood, Ohio in late April 1973 and leaving the plant with light copper paint and saddle trim. More recently it has been repainted white and the trim replaced with red vinyl. It sees a built 350cui 425hp roller engine with ceramic coated headers and a 3″ Flow Master dual exhaust. The frame, body and floors on this car are rust free and the paint & upholstery are in excellent condition. This car is super fast and a blast to drive!!
