Car Description
1969 Pontiac Firebird 2-door Hardtop Sport Coupe powered by a 5.7L 350cui V8 GM Pontiac small block engine and driven by a THM350 3-spd console-shift automatic transmission.
The Firebird was designed by Pontiac as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang and Mercury Cougar, and it was introduced on February 23, 1967, simultaneous with GM’s Chevrolet division platform-sharing Camaro. The first generation Firebird had characteristic Coke bottle styling which it shared with its cousin, the Chevrolet Camaro. The Pontiac however had it’s own styling trend, with the Firebird’s bumpers being integrated into the design of the front end, giving it a more streamlined look than the Camaro. The Firebird’s rear “slit” taillights were inspired by the 1966–1967 Pontiac GTO.
Despite being overshadowed by it’s cousin, the Firebird’s offered much of what a potential Camaro buyer desired, and in some areas considerably more but at a lower price than many comparable 350 Camaro’s.
Overall this is a very nice example of the Firebird and presents in a very well kept condition. The drivetrain in this Firebird is #’s matching. The Gold metallic paint is beautiful, the Black vinyl top is in excellent condition, bumpers & glass are excellent, the Black vinyl interior trim is in excellent condition and the cockpit also features new carpet. The frame and floors on this car are very solid & rust free.
