1968 Plymouth Road Runner 2-door Hardtop Coupe powered by a 6.3L 383cui V8 engine and driven by a 3-speed TorqueFlite column-shift automatic transmission.
The Plymouth Road Runner was a mid-sized car with a focus on performance built by Plymouth in North America between 1968 and 1980. Plymouth developed the Road Runner to market a lower priced, basic trim model to its upscale GTX. The Road Runner was based on Plymouth’s lowest-priced Belvedere B-body, and represented a simple ethos in muscle car design.
This 1st generation Road Runner was powered by an exclusive “Roadrunner” 6.3L 383cui B-series Commando V8 engine with a 4-barrel Carter carburetor rated at 335 hp at 5200 rpm and 425 lb/ft (576 Nm) at 3400 rpm of torque. Plymouth expected to sell about 20,000 units in 1968, but so popular was the car that actual sales numbered around 45,000 units.
This lovely ’68 Road Runner is one for the Mopar enthusiast! This car has had a ground up full restoration and features a date code correct 383 V8 engine with 4bbl carburetor, TorqueFlite automatic transmission, throaty dual exhaust and a 8.75″ rear end. It is finished beautifully in metallic Electric Blue paint, is fitted out with two-tone blue upholstery and features bucket seats.
