Beautifully restored Ranchero GT presented in lovely factory coded Brandy Wine paint. Over $US40K has been spent on this Ranchero both mechanically & cosmetically. This is a performance built engine that produces 380hp and 500 ft lbs of torque. It features a Performer aluminium intake, mild cam w/ 468 lift, 4-barrel 600cfm Holley carburetor, headers & CDI ignition.
This Ranchero received a frame-on restoration about 10 years ago consisting of a rebuilt engine, transmission, paint and interior. The previous owner reported spending $US40K on the build, and since then it has seen very limited use. The paint looks very nice with a deep finish on straight panels. The chrome & bright trim are in great condition also. There are no visible rust issues both underneath and above on this car. The desirable bucket seat interior still looks fresh with nice fit & finish on comfortable seats, and the instrumentation works properly.
Under the hood the 400 has been rebuilt with a nice street performance set up. It has a mild lope to the idle and quite impressive low end torque with nice power through out the RPM range. Receipt documents show rare Australian Cleveland heads and a Comp Cam. The aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, ‘Street Fire’ ignition and long tube headers help the combination to make an estimated 380 horsepower and nearly 500 ft/lbs of torque.
The Air Conditioning system is functional but will require a gas recharge. The removeable canopy that comes with this car is a custom unit and it fits well and has a surprisingly good look. It is easily removed/installed with 2 people. The trunk bed was painted with a color matched bed liner.
Out on the road this Ranchero is very smooth with the steering crisp & responsive and for the size it is actually quite nimble. The extra power from the engine build really makes this car a fun driver.
This is an absolutely awesome Ranchero GT, and you will not find a better example of the model.
