1967 Ford Mustang 2-dr Convertible powered by a 4.7L 289cui V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission through a conventional rear differential with 3.10:1 gearing.
This Mustang was built in Ford’s Metuchen, New Jersey plant on the 20th July 1967 and was painted Moss Green and featured standard Black bucket seat vinyl interior. It was produced as a C-code 289cui-2v V8 engined car with a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a conventional 3.10:1 differential, and was first delivered to the Richmond, Virginia DSO for sale.
This ’67 Mustang has been in the same family since 1989! Very few miles have been put on the car as it was used very sparingly and only logged about 300 miles in the last 11 years! The car has been stored indoors since 1989. A file of receipt documentation accompanies the car and shows an extensive amount of work done including paint, interior, brakes and electrical components. The engine and transmission were rebuilt at the same time and have seen very little mileage since this mechanical restoration.
Just a quick look at the photo’s will tell you this is a beautiful example of this era Mustang convertible! Keep in mind the paint is about 35 years old so there are some chips and imperfections but it does present very well, and we would call this one a 10-footer. The chrome and bright work look very good with a nice deep shine. This car would be a nice sunny day no guilt driver. It really does look nice but the imperfections let you enjoy the car without fearing a stone chip or getting caught out in the rain. The panels line up well for the breed. It’s hard to drive this one without thumbs up and constant smiles and pointing fingers.
The body on this car is very solid. The floors look great, and the only rust evident is on the driver’s side trunk drop off about 5 inches up from the drain. Frame rails and torque boxes all appear to be the originals and are in great condition. There is a small dent in the upper passenger side door just below the quarter window, please refer to the photo’s.
Inside the interior looks very nice. Very few miles have been put on the car since its restoration. Since it has lived indoors it has also survived un-faded so it still looks new. The seats are quite comfortable and are a nice place to spend a long drive.
The convertible top was replaced 35 years ago, but it too has seen little use and the car was garage stored. The hydraulic system still works nicely and the top latches properly.
The aftermarket Pioneer stereo was added 35 or so years ago. It is the removable style and it functions properly. The new 15″ Styled steel wheels and perfectly sized 215/65 Cooper Cobra tyres have just been installed.
This Mustang convertible has just serviced and is turn key, ready to drive and enjoy.
