1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 2-door Fastback Coupe powered by a 5.0L 302cui 290hp V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a 4-speed console-shift manual transmission.
The 1st Generation Mustang Boss 302 was a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970, and it was introduced in direct response to the threat that had been created in the muscle stakes by the more powerful Chev Camaro. Ford produced two (2) engines for their Boss cars, the 302 and 428. The 1969-70 Boss 302 (Hi-Po) engine was created in 1968 for the 1969 Trans-Am road racing series and the Boss 428 (Cobra Jet) engine for the NASCAR series.
Ford’s Boss 302 Mustang is a real-life supercar in every sense. It starts out good, and outclasses most of the world’s big-engined muscle cars. The Boss 302 looks good, performs well, and handles even better. The two Boss models received fame on the track and street and to this day they still demand premium pricing for their pedigree.
This is a genuine three-owner car that has been repainted once in original factory bright yellow and shows in excellent original unmolested condition. It was first DSO ordered & delivered to a Ford dealer in Lakewood, Colorado; and with it’s last two owners the car has resided in the dry desert states of New Mexico and California. It is a ‘rust free’ car, and it was factory ordered with the following options – shaker hood scoop, Magnum 500 wheels, deluxe interior w/ centre console, tinted windows, rear window louvres & the more desirable high performance 3.91 ‘Traction-Lok’ rear axle. The options of rear deck lid (spoiler) and tachometer were not ordered from the factory with this car.
This particular car is only 1 of 318 produced by Ford in this color & trim package for that year, which makes it a rare and sought after car. If you want ‘collectable muscle’ then here it is, a genuine ‘G-Code’ car complete with Marti report documentation.
