Car Description

1965 Ford Mustang 2-dr Hardtop Coupe powered by a 4.7L 289cui-2v ‘C-code’ V8 Ford Windsor small block engine matched to a 3-spd floor-shift manual transmission and driven through a conventional rear differential with 2.79:1 highway gearing.

          Southern California Garage Find
          Original Survivor
          289 C-code 200hp V8 Engine
          3-Spd Manual Transmission

This Mustang was built in Ford’s San Jose, Northern California plant on the 12th September 1964 and featured Tropical Turquoise paint matched to White vinyl standard upholstery with front bucket seats. It was powered by a 4.7L ‘C-code’ 289cui-2v 200hp V8 Windsor small block engine, matched with a 3-speed floor-shift manual transmission and paired to a conventional rear differential with 2.79:1 highway gearing. This car was delivered and sold into the San Jose, Northern California DSO where it was originally sold.

A Southern California garage find – this ’65 Mustang Coupe has spent its entire life in SoCal. A 2-owner car that’s been cared for, kept original, and recently revived to great running and driving condition.

It has has a single repaint in rare original colour of Tropical Turquoise many years ago, and it still wears its original interior which is clean and very serviceable. The car has excellent original body panels, floors, and frame rails and being a Southern California car it is not a rusty. It does however wear a few minor bumps & bruises. Recently it had a new aluminium radiator installed, a carburetor rebuild and a new alternator fitted.

The car runs and drives great as-is, or would be the perfect candidate for a light restoration. Easy to love either way.

Make no mistake this is a stock standard Mustang, however this is the kind of Mustang that’s getting harder to find – unrestored, solid, and honest!!

Please note: This Mustang is situated in Southern California, with a clear title and is available for immediate import into Australia. This price is an ALL-INCLUSIVE landed price in Australia incl GST. For serious buyers we can arrange for a video inspection of the car using WhatsApp, and we can also arrange door to door transport once in Australia.
