1967 Ford Mustang 2-dr ‘Shelby Style’ Coupe powered by a 4.9L 302cui V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission.
This is a beautifully Rotisserie Restored ’67 Coupe with some seriously valuable original Shelby components. This one was built by a professional Mustang restorer who also happens to be an MCA judge. The build started with a good car and was treated as a high end build so it was taken down to the unibody.
Obviously this is not your normal Mustang build. The front end is an original ’68 Shelby unit with the exception of the filler panel. Even the Martial Fog Lights are original Shelby pieces. The paint is top shelf and looks great in Silver Metallic Flake on Candy Apple Red. The lone defect is small paint bubble on the fiberglass hood. There are some minor imperfections but you have to be up close & very personal to find anything.
The undercarriage is painted in the correct fashion with Red Oxide paint. This is the same level detail used on six-figure $ Mustangs. Added in are sub-frame connectors to help strengthen the body.
Inside the interior features the ’67 brushed aluminium dash panels and factory tachometer. The seats, door panels, dash pad, headliner and trim have all been professionally restored. Fit & finish are nice and workmanship is top shelf.
Under the hood the 302 has been rebuilt with a balanced rotating assembly, mild performance camshaft, hardened valve seats, Shelby aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor, chrome plated HiPo exhaust manifolds and more. This motor was built for cruising, not as a drag racer. It does sound great with a good rumble to the idle. The C4 automatic transmission was completely rebuilt and a mild shift kid added. Shifts are crisp but not abusive.
Rolling stock consists of Shelby 15″ 10-Spoke alloy wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tyres.
If you are looking for a ‘Pony of a different colour‘ then check this one out. You certainly get some of the best Mustang on offer with this one, and definately not your normal Mustang build!!
