This Mustang Coupe left Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan plant in February 1965 as a T-code 200cui 6-cylinder car with a 3-speed manual floor shift transmission. This is now gone and the whole driveline has been replaced with the ever popular and much vaunted 347cui Stroker V8 Windsor engine, matched to a Borg Warner T5 5-speed floor shift manual transmission and running through an ‘Explorer’ Limited Slip differential with 3.73 gear ratio. Originally painted Caspian Blue, it now wears a purple/blue colour with silver GT stripes, but still retains the original Blue Vinyl interior.
This car oozes MUSCLE and drive wise is nothing short of AWESOME!! However it is in need of some cosmetic TLC, both internally & externally. The paint is only average with scratches & peeling evident in places. On the underside the floorpans will need replacing, and inside the upholstery & headliner will also need replacement at some time. There are some exciting features apart from the awesome driveline; it features front disc brakes, aluminium radiator, headers, dual exhaust & American Racing ‘Torque Thrust’ 15″ alloy wheels. (New floor pans and a windscreen will be provided to the purchaser in the sale price.)
This Stang is a RESTORERS DREAM, it has it’s scratches, scuffs, dents, stone chips, paint peel, etc and is definitely NOT a Trailer Queen, but it is a ‘Sleeper in the Rough’.
