1975 Ford Gran Torino 2-dr Hardtop Coupe ‘Brougham Edition’ powered by a 6.6L 400cui V8 Ford Cleveland 335-series small block engine matched to a C6 3-spd column-shift automatic transmission and driven through a heavy-duty Ford 9″ rear differential w/ 3.00:1 gearing.
This 3rd Gen 1975 Gran Torino was manufactured in Ford’s Lorain, Ohio plant in November 1974 as a 2-dr hardtop coupe. The trim/body plate identifies it as painted in Medium Blue Metallic with the upgraded ‘Brougham’ White vinyl interior trim with front Hi-Back split bench seat and featured a full White vinyl top. It was fitted with an S-code 6.6L 400cui-2v V8 ‘Cleveland’ engine, C6 3-speed column-shift automatic transmission paired to a conventional 9″ rear differential with 3.00:1 gearing and delivered to the Boston, Massachusetts DSO, where it was first sold by the selling dealer.
For 1975 all Torino’s featured solid state ignition systems, which improved starting performance and fuel economy, while reducing maintenance costs. The significant cosmetic change for the ’75 model year was that all Torino models adopted the Gran Torino grille and front fascia.
This Gran Torino is a classy cruiser featuring the ‘Brougham’ luxury package, and its ready to enjoy now as-is, or to take it to the next level.
The car has solid floors, frame, trunk & roof with minor fender damage on the front passenger side. The paint is presentable and is great for daily or weekend driving.
The ‘Brougham’ upholstery is the original white vinyl which is still in good condition, apart from a seam split in the drivers seat. It still wears the original colour-keyed carpet, excellent original dash and headliner.
This Gran Torino runs and drives great and is a true ’70’s classic with style and presence.
