Car Description

1969 Dodge Charger 500 2-dr Sports Hardtop Coupe powered by a 7.2L 375hp 440cui V8 Chrysler RB-series ‘Magnum’ engine and driven by a TorqueFlite A727 3-spd console-shift automatic transmission through a 8 3/4″ ‘Sure Grip’ posi rear axle .

          Partial Restoration Only
          Rebuilt 440cui V8 Engine
          TorquFlite A727 Auto Transmission
8 3/4″ Sure Grip Rear End
          4-Wheel Disc Brakes
          Black Full Vinyl Top

This base model Charger was built in Chrysler’s St Louis, Missouri plant on the 7th August 1969 as a 2-dr Hardtop Sports Coupe. The trim/body plate identifies it as originally painted in Dark Green Metallic with Green vinyl interior trim, fiited with front bucket seats and a Green full vinyl top. Mechanically it was equipped with a 6.3L 383cui-4v V8 engine and matched to a TorqueFlite A727 3-spd automatic transmission.

This 1969 Dodge Charger is a partial restoration only!!  It is a solid foundation for a high-quality restoration, and it combines professional bodywork, a solid structure, and a high desirability factor. It is a perfect starting point for a true Mopar enthusiast who wants to finish a car their own way.

This Charger was originally a factory G-Code car meaning that is was born with a 383cui engine, but it now has a 440cui V8 engine and a TorqueFlite A727 3-spd automatic transmission, both which were rebuilt approx sixteen (16) years ago. Unfortunately we do not know the internal specs. It is fitted with an 8 3/4″ Sure Grip rear end.

The paint and bodywork are completed, with the body being sandblasted, dipped, and refinished in Light Bronze Poly paint, which is a stunning Metallic Bronze that glows in the sun. It now features a Black vinyl top which is in like-new condition. It still wears its original floors and cross-members which are in excellent condition.

The suspension has been fully rebuilt with powder-coated components (control arms, K-member, and rear end housing). It now features a new 4-wheel power-assisted disc brake setup which needs the hard lines to be installed. Mostly complete chrome and brightwork are there and are in good driver-quality condition.

Interior wise it has restored seats (upholstery pattern is not factory); restored dash pad, with dash panels included; headliner bows and retainers are present; centre console is included (but is missing the floor brackets & shifter); it does need a headliner, door panels, carpet, and finishing hardware; the door glass, regulators, and hardware are included.

This Charger offers a tremendous head start – body and chassis work are already done, major mechanical systems are upgraded, and the key components are included. With the heavy lifting complete, it’s ready for someone to finish the assembly and add their own personal touch.

Summary: A very clean, solid, and highly desirable 1969 Charger that’s ready to become the high-value street or show car that it deserves to be.
