1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 2-dr Sport Coupe powered by a 5.7L 350cui V8 GM Chev small block engine and driven by a THM400 3-speed console-shift automatic transmission.
This ’68 Chevelle Malibu was the first year in production of the 2nd Generation (1968-1972) Chevelle mid-size car. The 1968 Chevelle received an all-new distinctly sculpted body with tapered front fenders and a rounded beltline. The car adopted a long-hood/short-deck profile with a high rear-quarter “kick-up” and the coupe version was some three (3) inches shorter in the wheelbase than previous models.
This car was built in Baltimore in the 1st week of July 1968 and was originally a 5.4L 327cui V8 air conditioned car that was painted in Butternut Yellow. The engine has been replaced with a late model 5.7L 350cui V8 crate engine, the air conditioning has been disconnected and the car has been repainted Maroon a couple of years ago. The paint still shows very good apart from a crack on the roof and a few chips on the front valance.
This Chevelle Malibu drives & shifts very nice with tight suspension and the frame & floors are all solid. Overall, a very quick car with it’s late model 350 V8 which makes for a very nice weekend warrior show car.
