1966 Chevrolet Caprice 2-door Custom Hardtop Coupe powered by a 5.4L 327cui V8 275hp GM Chev small block engine and driven by a THM350 3-spd console-shift automatic transmission.
The Caprice was introduced by Chevrolet in mid-1965 as a luxury trim package for the Impala four-door hardtop. The following year, in 1966 Chevrolet offered a full line of Caprice models including a ‘formal hardtop’ coupe. These models included luxuriously upholstered interiors with simulated wood dashboard and door-panel trim, thicker carpeting, sound insulation, courtesy lighting, and more upscale exterior trims.
Caprice gained series status for the 1966 model year and was positioned as the top-line full-size Chevrolet and featured a revised grille and front bumper, and new rectangular taillights which replaced the Chevrolet-traditional triple round taillights.
This is a great example of the Caprice model with beautiful base clear Regal Red paint and like new Black interior. This is a solid clean car which is rust free and with original floors & frame. Available are the original purchase documents, manuals & ‘protect-o-plan’ plate.
