This Camaro was produced in the 1st week of September 1967 in GM’s, Van Nuys, Los Angeles, Southern California plant as an 2-dr convertible RS equipped model and was fitted with a 5.4L 327cui GM V8 Chevy small block engine that was matched with a M20 4-speed floor console-shift manual transmission and driven through a 12-bolt posi-traction rear differential. The trim/body plate identifies it as originally painted in GM’s Butternut Yellow paint and fitted with a Black convertible top, trimmed with Black custom vinyl upholstery and fitted with front bucket seats with headrests. Other factory options fitted included a fold-down rear seat, 4-speed manual transmission, centre console, rear seat speaker, deluxe seat belts, RPO Z23 option of custom interior decor & RPO Z22 which was the Rally Sport equipment package.
This is a Los Angeles built West Coast rust-free car. It features a beautifully dressed engine compartment with ceramic coated headers and a strong running 383 Stroker.
This RS Convertible has had considerable money spent on it with gorgeous Butternut Yellow exterior paint, like new Black SS interior with centre console and new black convertible power top.
RPO Z22 Rally Sport equipment package options from the factory: –
- Concealed headlights: Special headlights hidden behind the grille
- Special grille: A black-painted grille with concealed headlights and headlight washers
- Unique badging: RS emblems on the grille, steering wheel and rear panel
- Fender striping: Standard fender striping, unless other sport striping was selected
- Rear styling: Simulated rear fender louvers and bright-accented taillights
- Lighting: Back-up lights were relocated to a position below the rear bumper
- Moldings: Front and rear wheel opening moldings, a black body sill, and bright roof drip moldings for Sport Coupes
This car is now dressed as an SS, but it was an RS original model from the factory.
