1968 Chevrolet Camaro 2-door Hardtop Sport Coupe powered by a No’s Matching 5.4L 327cui V8 Chevy small block engine matched to a Tremec T5 5-speed console-shift manual transmission and driven through a conventional 10-bolt rear differential.
This Camaro was produced in the 1st week of June 1968 in GM’s, Norwood, Ohio plant as a 2-dr hardtop sport coupe and was fitted with a 5.4L 327cui V8 GM Chevy small block engine that was matched with a 4-speed floor-shift manual transmission and driven through a conventional 10-bolt rear differential. The trim/body plate identifies it as painted in GM’s Matador Red paint, trimmed with standard Black vinyl upholstery and fitted with front bucket seats.
This Camaro was imported in early 2015 and has been always stored indoors by its meticulous owner, and is now being offered for sale reluctantly. This car is a lovely example of the classic American Muscle of its era.
This Camaro has undergone various restoration work over the last ten (10) years. The car has a great feel about it, and while not a 100-point show car, it certainly does not disappoint in any way. So, while the restoration work is very nice, it was not a ‘Concours’ restoration. Some of the upgrades include Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, “Vintage Air’ air conditioning, aluminium radiator, ‘Dakota’ digital gauges, Bluetooth stereo system, floor console, Flowmaster exhaust, new fuel tank, new brakes hoses and suspension bushes, new door weather seals and more. All of these upgrades from stock make this car now a much more enjoyable and reliable car to drive on the street.
So, if you are in the market for a beautifully restored and presented car with nice options, then you must take a good look at this one! This car is running its No’s Matching engine and rear differential. It has absolutely no rust; looks, sounds and drives great. It has that awesome sense and feeling you get when you drive a well sorted Muscle Car down the road.
The car currently has NSW Club road registration which is not transferrable. This car lends itself to weekend car show & shine days and attracts a lot of attention.
