1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-dr Post Hardtop powered by a 5.7L 350cui V8 GM Chev small block engine matched to a THM350 3-speed floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a Ford 9″ rear differential.
This is a very nice Bel Air which was built in GM’s Oakland, Northern California plant in 1957 as a 6-cylinder engined car. This iconic car now features a freshly rebuilt 350cui V8 small block engine and a THM350 3-speed floor-shift automatic transmission. The car also now features a Ford 9″ rear differential. It has seen a recent repaint in Hot Rod Matte Black, which accentuates the chrome trim nicely. It has been nicely restored both inside and out with the interior now showing powered front dark grey leather bucket seats with headrests. On the underside the frame rails and floor pans are in great shape and very solid.
Under the bonnet, the 350 features a plethora of Edelbrock goodies including air cleaner, aluminium intake and valve covers. The carburetor is a 670cfm Quick Fuel ‘Brawler’ and the car features ‘Hydro-Boost’ power steering and power assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. A nice touch is the inclusion of air conditioning. Both the engine and transmission are recent fresh rebuilds and run and shift nicely.
The exterior of the car is finished in Hot Rod Matte Black, and as such shows up minor scratches, whiskey dents and rust bubble more than what other colours would expose. The panels are solid and align well, the tinted glass is all new and the brightwork is in good condition. It also features new aftermarket air conditioning which blows cold.
This is a very solid car which is showing a recent restoration; it runs strong, includes many options and is turn-key ready to enjoy now. There is room left for your own personal touches with this car, so if you are a Hot Rodder or Weekend Cruiser, then this car should interest you!!
