1965 Ford Mustang 2-dr Hardtop Coupe powered by a 4.7L ‘C-code’ 289cui-2v V8 Ford Windsor small block engine matched to a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a conventional rear differential with 2.80:1 highway gearing.
This Mustang was built in Ford’s San Jose, Northern California plant on the 29th April 1965 as a 2-dr hardtop coupe and featured Prairie Bronze paint matched to standard Palomino crinkle vinyl upholstery with front bucket seats. It was powered by a 4.7L ‘C-Code’ 289cui-2v V8 Windsor small block engine, matched with a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and paired to a conventional rear differential with 2.80:1 highway gearing. It was delivered and sold into the Los Angeles, Southern California DSO where it has spent all its life.
As you can see in the photos, this car had been restored many years ago, and in fact has had one repaint in its original colour of Prairie Bronze. Certain aspects of the car would need to be refreshed to be new again. The upper surfaces are showing the clear coat failing and the upholstery seams on the driver’s seat have started separating.
Despite these cosmetic shortcomings, the car runs and drives fantastic. It drives down the road nice and tight, tracks straight, brakes straight and doesn’t appear to leak any fluids. It’s currently a “no-guilt driver” that could serve its new owner immediately, or you can choose to restore it as you go and build the car of your dreams.
The car features power steering, front disc brakes and an upgraded aluminum radiator.
Being a lifelong Southern Californian car, you can’t lose on its West Coast heritage – a rust-free sheet metal car!! Furthermore, there is no evidence of bondo or any previous accidents, and it still wears its original body panels, floors and frame rails.
Please note: This Mustang is situated in Southern California, with a clear title and is available for immediate import into Australia. This price is an ALL-INCLUSIVE landed price in Australia incl GST.
