1972 Chevrolet C10 ‘Cheyenne’ Fleetside Shortbed pickup truck powered by a 5.7L 350cui V8 Chev small block engine and driven by a 3-spd THM400 column-shift automatic transmission.
This 2nd generation Chevy pickup saw numerous changes occur in the 1971 model year. Firstly came another new grille design (the “egg crate”) for Chevrolet trucks and secondly an additional trim package was introduced: the ‘Cheyenne’. These packages consisted mostly of comfort features — nicer interiors, more padding and insulation, carpet, chrome trim, and upper and lower side molding and tailgate trim. 1971 was also the first year for AM/FM radios to be factory installed, and finally, the front brakes on all light-duty trucks were switched from drum to disc brakes, which resulted in much less brake fade under heavy use.
This ’72 C10 ‘Cheyenne’ is a beautiful example of this classic US muscle truck. It sees new ‘Tangier Orange‘ paint on a straight and very solid bodied shortbed pickup which features factory air conditioning, and is a real blast to drive.
