1985 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Shortbed pickup truck powered by a 5.4L 327cui V8 Chevy small block engine and driven through a THM700R4 4-speed column-shift automatic overdrive transmission.
This 1985 C10 is a 3rd-Gen (1973-1991) truck built by GM and was colloquially called the ‘Square-Body’ because of its large rectangular front fascia. This C10 left GM’s Flint, Michigan assembly plant in 1985 with a 5.0L 305cui V8 engine, but this sweet truck is now running a 327cui V8 Chevy engine out of a ’67 Corvette and fires right up and runs awesome. This engine is matched to a 700R4 automatic w/ overdrive transmission which drives smoothly down the road.
Looking around this truck:-
Paint/Body: This is a sweet looking truck. While not perfect, it is in great shape for a daily driver. The bodylines are straight and there is minimal rust. The only 2 spots of rust found on the body are on the driver’s door and a spot on the roof. The paint, although original, is still in good shape. There are a few dings, dents and stone chips around the body, but overall a sharp looking truck.
Interior: The interior of this truck is very clean and tidy. The original bench seat still shows well and the seatbelts are still in place. Clean carpet and door panels. Weathertech floor mats are a nice addition. The previous owner installed a custom dash with ‘Glow Shift’ gauges. Very clean inside!
Glass/Windows: All major glass is in great shape, with no cracks or shadowing. The driver’s side outside mirror has a crack through it, but is still operational. The windows roll up and down with ease. The split window in the back opens and closes easily as well.
Trunk/Bed: The bed of this truck is super clean. It was recently rhino lined and has no dents in the sides or tops of the wheel wells. The tail gate opens and closes easily. The only major dent is on the left side of the tailgate on the exterior near the handle. Otherwise, a very clean trunk. The underneath is as sharp as the inside of the bed as well, and there is no visible rust or patches.
Undercarriage: This truck has a 1982 front end with the lights in the front bumper. The underneath of this truck is very clean. It has crossover gas tanks fitted that are hooked up and functional. The frame, floor pans, rockers, fender wells and cap corners are all very solid with no rust. The underneath of the driver door has some minimal pitting but no major issues. The only rust noticeable on the undercarriage of this truck is in the front passenger side fender well, probably from leaking battery acid over the years. But overall, a very clean underside!
Wheels/Tyres: Matching Cragar SS alloy wheels are in great shape fitted with newer Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tyres that have plenty of tread.
Drivetrain: This C10 was donored with a 327 V8 with double hump heads out of a ’67 Corvette. The 700R4 transmission with overdrive shifts smoothly through all gears. The truck fires right up and drives awesome!
Lights/Electrical: All the headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, and wipers are working. It features a new custom fabricated dash with ‘Glow Shift’ gauges installed and are all functioning.
Brakes: Power-assisted front disc brakes that stop straight and strong! No pulling to either side.
This C10 is not for show, but is a genuine honest driver quality truck which will attract attention. These shortbed pickups are becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition. This is a cool ride that is in very good condition!
