Car Description

1967 Ford Mustang 2-dr Hardtop Coupe powered by a 4.7L C-code 289cui-2V V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a C4 4-spd floor-shift automatic transmission.

          Factory Q-Code ‘Brittany Blue’ Paint
          Factory C-Code 289cui V8
          C4 3-Spd Automatic
          Original Air Conditioning Car
          Magnum 500 Wheels

Mustang Coupe’s have been on a tear lately, like everything else. Values are way up and still climbing. Finding a good driver without paying in the upper $50K’s is actually becoming an issue. If you want a coupe in the $25-$30K range then you will need to own a trailer…have a deep budget…and an extensive tool kit.

This one fits in the ‘project driver’ category. The body is straight with some ‘Patina’. The paint is older and a bit short on shine, though an aggressive polish could bring some of it’s lustre back. Obviously your are not going to polish the silver bonnet into Brittany Blue, so that’s something. A repaint on this one would be relatively straight forward as there are no obvious signs of significant collision damage or body filler presenting themselves. The quarter panels and trunk floors are the originals thankfully. The floors have seen some replacement with reproduction panels, and the repairs are sound. Frame rails look good and solid too.

Inside the interior shows some wear from time, but the seat upholstery is in good condition. The lower driver’s seat frame has the typical crack which causes the seat to lean, which is an easy straight forward repair. The carpet isn’t torn up as much as it is faded from time. Luckily, the Mustang interior components are extremely easy to source and are priced quite reasonably in the restoration parts world.

Under the hood the 289 runs excellent. Unfortunately we didn’t get any receipt documentation but it appears the engine has been rebuilt. It fires up quickly and revs nicely. No smoke or valvetrain noises. The C4 goes into gear quickly and shifts nicely too.

This Coupe was originally equipped with air conditioning. The under-dash components appear to all be in place, however the underhood components have long been removed.

The front suspension was reportedly rebuilt shortly before the car was stored in a dirt-floor carport. The components have some dirt, dust & grease on them but upon inspection the components are all in good condition.

So, there you go. An honest ’67 Coupe in the super desirable Brittany Blue paint colour. It’s solid and it runs & drives well.
